The Allegro
Grille serves inspired Italian cuisine

The Allegro Grille, 870 Welsh Road, Maple Glen, has
exceptional Italian cuisine that has earned the beautifully appointed
trattoria a loyal and enthusiastic following since opening its rustic
wooden doors a year ago. The gorgeous dining room, which seats 130, has
six Roman columns that front the rooms entranceway. |
|
|
| The term allegro, which refers to
a brisk musical tempo, also relates to chef Angelo’s superior Italian
cuisine, which hits all the right notes for flavor and artistic
presentation. |

Wince, the supreme pizza
man, baked up a tasty clams casino white pizza ($9.95, 12-inch) that
broke the bank of flavor. The thin, crisp crust was topped with savory
mozzarella cheese and a catch of fresh little necks and fragments of
bacon. The 17 varieties of pizza offer a choice of 12-inch pizzas ($7.95
to $9.95), baked on a wood-fired oven, or a 16-inch pie ($9.95 to
$14.95) that is baked traditionally. |

|
My companion’s veal Giuseppe ($19.95) is a
sensational specialty of the house that offers milk-fed medallions of
natured veal with mushrooms, roasted red peppers and fresh asparagus
under a tomato demi-glaze. |
|
|
|
My shrimp tortelacci ($15.95) was a gracious dish of
jumbo tortellini filled to capacity with a delicious medly of lobster,
shrimp, fresh spinach, and ricotta and mozzarella cheeses in marinara
sauce. |
|
|
|
Our fine meal ended with a luscious dessert of
chocolate hazelnut gelato Italian ice cream ($3.95) served with a lacing
of chocolate syrup. |

The elegant inn has the intimate Grotto Room with
three tables at the back of the main dinning room. It is ideal for a
quite evening of romantic dining. |

Joe, |

We were introduced to your restaurant about a year
ago and we continue to enjoy the great tasting food, your attentive
staff, and your friendly hospitality. Some of our favorite dishes are;
the Caesar salad, Vongole, Scaloppine con Funghi, and Scaloppine
Puttanesca. |

Presenting us with one of your Merlot favorites on
Saturday, August 7th was very kind of you. After sipping a
couple of vodkas at your friendly bar, we did not want to open your
bottle of wine at the restaurant. Your wine is being guarded every
minute waiting for the cork to be pulled on our first anniversary on
August 19th. |

Thanks again, Joe. We will return the favor
soon with one of Jack’s best wines. |

Thank you so much for a wonderful experience
last Saturday night. Everyone in my family enjoyed themselves and I am
still hearing from them on how great the food was. The service was great
also. I have dined with my father on many occasions, all over the
country, and this is one of the few occasions where he continued to
comment on the quality of the food and service. |

I have already told several acquaintances
and friends about your establishment and have placed it at the top of my
list for local dining recommendations and personal dining and
entertaining. My folks have a home in Massachusetts, which is where they
were headed after having spent the Winter at their home in West Palm
Beach. They usually stop by to visit us for an evening on both the
Northbound and Southbound journeys. No doubt we will be back with the
whole crew again in the Fall. Of course, my wife and I will not wait
that long to come and visit you again. We will see you very soon. |

Thanks for making our evening so enjoyable
and being able to handle 19 of us on such short notice. |
|
|
Sincerely,
Al Regensburger |

What we had. That 650-degree,
wood-burning oven really brought out the sweetness of the chopped
tomatoes topping our garlicky bruschetta ($7), while more fresh garlic
permeated within our brimming bowl of steamed mussels with herbs and
white wine ($9). Crisp, true-to-recipe Caesar salads came with our
entrees. And those entrees more than lived up to the hype from our
server...click here to read more |
